New website.

We were accepted into the global network of Chabad. They want us to remain formally unidentified as Chabad House. we will be an affiliated center with Chabad. We're called the Cabo Jewish Center (CJC).
They want us to do this, because R' Moshe Kotlarsky says that leaving Shlichus is no joke and being in such a remote place so alone, Chas Vesahlom this Shlichus may not work for us. If that is the case, and we are identified as official Chabad Shluchim, it will make Chabad look real bad. It's begun happening lately, that Shluchim open up and a few months later they close shop because of technical difficulties. But R' Moshe plans on stopping the unserious image that Shlichus is starting to display.
In a few months, if it works out... Sorry, when it works out, we will be able to officially become Chabad Cabo.
Our website is www.jewishcabo.com. Check it out often and donate!!!

Just bought a Megillah.
The Rebbe is with me wherever I will find myself.
I am willingly handcuffing myself to the Rebbe and throwing away the key!
I will be merely a pipe, extending the love and care of the Rebbe to every single Yiddishe Neshama in Cabo and across the world. A pipe of love you might say.

My wife is nervous, because of all the mounting pressure from friends and family, who continuously tell her to just unconditionally love and care for every single Jew in Cabos. She claims to be nervous, because how can she love every single Jew??
I am inspired by such a issue that she takes with that. She is not justifying herself to 'not love' every single Yid. She is displaying he worry and will to work on herself with whatever it takes, in order to be able to love every Yid over there. It's absolutely beautiful.

I'm outa' here.
Ciao!!

Just a thought.

I never ever thought that I would actually write this. But Hashem has shown ourfamily what it means to appreciate the small things that come our way...

You see, for the past several days, we were actually dreading the notion of having any guest that's not part of our immediate family over to our house.
Why you ask??
It's simple. Our toilet has been blocked and stuffed for the past week. I wasn't sure what it was and I was sort of scared to call the management, figuring that they would charge an arm and a leg for them to fix it (what do I know?). I also figured that I'd be able to take care of the job with a plunger.
Little did I know.
I bought a plunger from home depot and tried and tried to plunge it. In the beginning it made things a bit better and I thought that we would be able to survive until we leave this place. But last week Thursday was when my unlucky toilet decided that enough was enough. I had plunged it enough and my toilet was fed up with being plunged. It got stuck. Stuck in a way, that the fluids would slowly seep through the block. But any 'solid' substances would simply stay and stick (use your imagination)... Yes, it was as if Satan himself was taking a swim.
The Matzav was very difficult and we were not sure how we would survive the weekend to be able to call management and go through the 'cleansing' process.
Well, first thing this morning, I called the management and without any hesitation, they told me that the super will be over today to fix the problem.
At about 11:30am, the super arrived and began doing his cleaning of my toilet. I was embarrassed from the coloring and swimming Satan babies floating around... But I decided that this embarrassment will take away some other bad thing that may have needed to befall me... So I kept quiet and watched as he cleaned and cleaned and... lo and behold... He pulls out this stainless steel Fleishigeh spoon. It used to be Fleishig. Now it was Kakidig.
I was more embarrassed and mumbled something about it being Kovi's fault and let him leave.

But after he left, I ran to the bathroom to see if the toilet would flush. I tell ya', I haven't had many times like this in my life, where I was watching the water go down the toilet and thanked G-d for inventing the flush. I must have flushed about fifteen times, and each time I appreciated it more than the one before. To see clear, clear water in my toilet... To be able to see the bottom of my toilet after the past five days was such a breath of fresh air.
I have thanked G-d for lots of things... But there comes a time, when you realize the true kindness of Hakodosh Boruch Hu.

May all of our flush buttons work properly, so that we may flush ourselves from all the 'waste' and spiritual diarrhea that may build up within the bowels of our Neshomo's and bring about the ultimate redemption, when all evil will be 'flushed' from this world and the world will be filled with the knowledge of Hashem as the waters cover the sea...

I'm sick of emailing everyone... Check this out.

Here is a song that I just recorded. Choni agreed to record it for me. But it was like 1 in the morning when we did it. My voice was gone. But somehow it came out sounding half decent. The beginning is too gruff. It should be a bit more smooth and relaxing I think.

Anyways, basically I made this song, inspired by the self defense mission that Israel waged several weeks ago in Gaza.
Just thinking about the terror and fright that must have been on the minds of these innocent 20 year old soldiers who were patrolling the Gaza street in the middle of the night. At any moment, out of any alleyway, an Arab can jump out and take their lives. Yet, they believe in Hashem and in his protection.
I was also both inspired and sort of troubled by the fact that when all is running smoothly, Hashem doesn't show us in a clear way how he is watching us. But when all of a sudden we are under attack, when our lights go out and we are scared, Hashem shows up and reveals himself to us with miracles and what not. Just an interesting thought... And that's what the song is dedicated to. I think that Hashem wants us to take those dark, yet inspiring moments and carry them into our sunny days.

Enjoy.

For Chaim and anyone else who is experiencing difficulty with the last donate button.

See. All you need to do, is overcome the challenge that Hashem puts in front of you. It may seem like the previous 'donate' button stopped functioning. But if you ask Benny to fix it. He will do so as quick as he can.

Another memorable post from the dearest brother on earth!!

Like I said, my brother is a Shliach in a very remote part of Russia. It's so amazing to read of his experiences over there and Hashgocho Protis that confronts him on a daily basis.
Here is another one of his amazing stories...

A few days before Chayale left to America, something amazing happened. SOmething I can probably farbreng with the bochurim in Moscow about.

I went to the notary to make a document allowing Chayale to travel overseas with Chaim, and when the business was done, the notary asked me (I get this often): "why do you walk around with your hat? There are many dangerous anti-Semites in Stavropol. It's not wise."

I responded by removing my hat, under which was a huge, bright blue Yarmulka. We all had a laugh, and then I told her that even if I were to wear a baseball cap, people would still know I was Jewish (since I need to wear tzitzis anyway). Besides, what kind of life is a life of fear? better to go back to Canada then live looking behind my back all the time. I finished by saying that the main reason I wear my hat is because I meet so many Jews that way, and even if they don't come over to say Shalom, at least it warms their heart to see a Rabbi, and lets them know that they have nothing to worry about.

We then left. Now I rarely walk in the street with Victoria (my secretary), but this time we had to do other business nearby (get a foosball table for Sunday school).

As we trudged through the mass of Russians, Victoria asked me if it's true that I meet people through wearing that hat, or if it has only happened two or three times. "It's really unsafe, Rabbi." She emphasized.

Before I could answer, my cell phone rang. I did the 'just a second' motion with my finger, and looked at the caller ID. Chaim Khanukayev!

Chaim is a young Jew who just finished college that I had had several phone conversations with. We had tried to meet several times, but it never worked out.

I put the phone to my ear.

"Rabbi, turn around!"

I turn around to see this young man walking toward me with arms outstretched.

I hugged Chaim with a huge Shalom! and then Chaim told me, "I was walking down the street, and suddenly saw your hat! I knew it had to be you!"

I immediately turned to Victoria and said, "this was not orchestrated!"

An inspirational story from my brother's blog.

As I have previously written, there's a man in the community who has a 2-year-old son with Leukemia.Boruch Hashem there's an 85% chance of the boy surviving, but it's been hard on the family. The parents have separated, and the father lost his job due to the crisis.I raised 500 bucks to help the family several months ago, and told the father (Denis Feldman) that I will keep trying. So far, no luck (although if anyone wants to make a donation, please contact me).Last week, I was speaking to Denis, and he was telling me how difficult it is. He is doing all kinds of odd jobs, but still can't put together enough to pay for his son's medicine, which is extremely expensive.I had an idea, and told him I would see what I can do.Each Thursday I visit many businessmen from the community. Among them is Yosef Zizov, a wealthy Jew who imports medicine and sells them to all the hospitals and pharmacies. He is a 'hartzige yid', and so I told him about Denis, and he agreed to sponsor the medicine. They just met, and Denis was given the medicine.Another Mitzvah in Stavropol! (pictured above is Yosef).
...
As I have previously mentioned, my brother Zvi is a Shliach of the Rebbe in Stavropol, Russia. He is absolutely incredible. It's different I guess, when you hear about all these Shluchim going out of their comfort levels in order to help another Jew. But when it's your brother... There's a different sort of pride inside me.
I'm proud of you Zvi.
Chayalle also wrote a really inspiring article about her trip back to Russia and the help and love that fellow Shluchim treat each other with... Read it @ www.jewishstavropol.blogspot.com

Kovi is not feeling well.

Yes, for the past several days, Kovi has had fever, Shnotz, wasn't feeling well and has had lots and lots of Shnotz pouring out of his nostrils.
It's been very hectic to say the least. He's been Kvetchy and complainy.
But! Hopefully he is getting better slowly and we will once again Shlep Nachas from the cutest little tike on earth Ka"h Bli Ayin Hora B'H!

The next week ahead is my last week that I will be living among normal American people. I will need to soak in as much Judaism as possible. Because on Sunday, March 1, 2009 @ 10am, my family is boarding a plane headed for Cabos, Mexico, where we will establish the Chabad House of Cabo. We will be building the first Shul in Cabos EVER!! Perhaps 5769 years have passed, while the world waits for Moshiach. But there may be a small lonesome spark that is sitting somewhere in Cabo and has been waiting for thousands of years for a Rabbi to come and ignite that spark. Only then, will Moshiach be able to come... Hence... The entire world's redemption may just be leaning on my shoulder.

My shoulder is aching.

Tomorrow is Shabbos Mevorchim Adar. Mishenichnas Adar MArbim Besimcha!!! (Secret message to Sab)

Sonia bought me a chocolate bar today and it was amazing. Some sort of Pesek Zman!!! But it was delish!

Not much else is happening in the life of mine. I'm still going crazy trying to fundraise... I really need to work on my skills. Or I need to find a new place that gives. Or I need to make like a thousand more phone calls... I'm not sure which one it is.

Anyways, I'll be seeing ya'
Good Shabbos and have a ever so inspiring Shabbos Mevorchim.

What do you think of these lyrics??

So here's an idea that I had. I'm going to make a song, where each two lines are going to be entire Farbrengen's, condensed into two small and simple lines. That means to say, that concepts in Chassidic ideology that are Farbrenged upon and thoroughly discussed for hours on end, will be put together into the basic idea and summed up in two lines.
It would make a marvelous and deep song. A song that people would have to listen to over and over again, in order to take out the messages that are coded inside.

Any ideas??

One example is the concept of truth being able to give and be Mashpia only when it's absolute truth. When you're connected to the source and only have holiness and essence in you, then there's no way that people won't listen to you and not be inspired. Yotzeim Min Haleiv Nichnosim el Halev... If you speak from your heart, from your essence, from the absolute that is within you, then no external barrier or division can block what you are trying to be Mashpia. If they come from the heart, then they will enter into the hearts of all. It's a nice Farbrengen idea that hours on end are spent trying to explain and interpret.

"Some people are givers and others are takers.
Sometimes, the givers can't give cause they're fakers!!"

That's a sample line that I'm thinking of for the song/rap!!

Any thoughts or suggestions??

Every two lines will be another Farbrengen idea. Understand??

Doing 5 GS's today.

Whoa! What a day!!!!
Today I met the one and only Rebbetzin from the Far East. Rebbetzin Goldie was in the museum and said hello to me. It's been a really long time. But the world gets smaller and smaller when you live in CH and these conventions go on.

While I was talking to Goldie, an old Baal Habos from Hong Kong walked into the Museum as well and we all chatted. It was none other than Michael Cule who is one of the big guys from the Children's place. He's making an Upshernish in the Museum today and I'm even supposed to do a game show for him in like fifteen minutes.
It was really cool.

I also called Chaya Avtzon down to be a contestant in the Game show. She was excited and shocked to find out that my name is Dovid during the game show.

I have another three game shows to do.

This morning I also began my day at 6, when I woke up and went to the Ohel, just because I had a vehicle to take me there. I asked for Brochos in everything. I asked the Rebbe to take care of myself and my family on his Shlichus. I also asked that Merkos finally accept me into their 'club'. You know, it sort of undermines the entire purity and truth about Merkos, when they start giving you silly and petty problems that are obviously 'not' problems with regard to your Shlichus. But, I'm not going to vent on this blog, nor will I bad mouth honorable and generally upright Chassidim of the Rebbe, whom the Rebbe entrusted with such gigantic and daunting responsibilities like... Taking care of the entire Lubavich Shlichus network around the world. How could such a system not go corrupt?? It seems inevitable to somehow up the ladder eventually become dirty and messed with from the inside. Yet, with all the petty politics that go around, you still have some genuinely devoted Chassidim, who faithfully do try as best as they can to do the job that the Rebbe gave to them. It's absolutely incredible.

I will continue in a later post. I have some other thoughts...

Another one from Shmully...

Shmully Lazaroff... You are sick... continue reading!

As with such a heading, explanation is demanded. So here goes.

Shmully Lazaroff, soldier in the Israeli Army... Some elite unit which is apparently so elite, that he can't even tell his friends about it. That's how awesome he is... Anyways, he is sick. He is inflicted with a rare disease. Hopefully contagious. His disease is 'awesomeness!!'
Shmully Lazaroff is sick and severely infected with a serious case of awesome'ness.

I can't stand listening to his songs. Mainly, because they are so full of emotion, beauty, love, passion, hurt, poetry yet simplicity. It gives me chills every time.

So in conclusion, thank you so much Shmully for such an incredible song. I will be the first one to grab your cd's off the shelves!!!!

I love you and miss you man! May Hashem continue to protect you and help give you the strength to continue to protect the Jewish people.

Get in touch man!

Oh! Shabbat Shalom!

Kovi Kein Ayin Hora. If love is cloud #9. Then I'm on #16.

Pictorial update.

Chicken that Sonia is preparing for Shabbos. It's absolutely delish. Pretty normal for Sonia's cooking of late. She's gone from pasta Italian lazy supper lady (not quite. But you get my point) to gourmet, fancy delicacies. Incredible. I'm not sure if it's Shlichus or what. But she makes the best meals.

Richter nephew's. Such cuties!!! We will miss them sorely.

Kovi with his dad today. Getting ready for Shabbat! Check out those teeth! (Kovi's!)

My mom is the coolest!!!

My mother had her birthday yesterday. But instead of us giving her something, she's given us something very valuable. Yes, she has also joined the ranks of sponsors to our Chabad House in Cabos, by contributing a generous sum through PayPal.
Thank you Mammy so much for helping support us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
May you only grow younger and younger in age and health. But older and older in wisdom, Money!!!!, understanding, money!!!!, caring, money!!!!, Nachas, Money!!!! and did I forget to mention... Money! So that you will continue to support both morally and financially the children that you've so devotedly raised to be Shluchim of the Rebbe and spread Yiddishkeit and Chassidus throughout the entire world.

Thanks again mom!!

Where we hope to open Chabad Cabo once we arrive.

The circled are of the photograph is where we hope to set up shop and open up Chabad Cabo. It's the dead center of the city inside the cities largest shopping mall.
Check out the incredible architecture and design. It's unreal and beautiful. If we have a big Chabad sign hanging there, every Jewish tourist in the city will know that a home for them beckons to them in Cabos.
The picture on top is the view of the Marina that you have while on the balcony where we hope to open Chabad Cabo.

Like I've been saying all this time thus far: Donate and help!!

Incredible. I love Alan Dershowitz.

Leibel rocks casa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lots quotation marks there! You know what that means... Leibel is one of the coolestestest in the world. He has donated money to Chabad Cabo... This is beginning to roll and it's a pleasure to have you on board Leibel.

Thank you so much.

*Note: The above picture has absolutely no similarity to Leibel. I just put it there, so that people should think that it does. But it does not!
