Swine flu??

Interesting thoughts that pass through me.

  • Someone who I really respect in life called me up the other day and told me the following inspiring thought: Previously, when the world was consumed with the global problem of Aids and HIV, which are passed through physical contact and one by one... The holy Chassidic approach to it was to increase and fight the problem with goodness. The way the Rebbe always spoke about "Meruba Mida Tova Mimida Puroniyos," how goodness goes alot farther than evil and negative. Anyways, nowadays the world seems to be facing a problem much greater. It gets passed through invisible germs and can reach across the world in a matter of hours and affect thousands and millions of people. How much more so does this saying aplly to us. Imagine the goodness that we can affect literally, to the entire world! There has got to be some way of spreading goodness to people around us to the same dramatic extend as the swine flu. we need to create a "goodness pandemic"... Reaching millions and millions of people and changing their lives for the better. How much more so here in Mexico, which seems to be the source of the flu. How much power is invested into us. We literally have the power to change the woild!! Any suggestions on how I could do something like that??
  • Cabo is a Cool place. Swine flu hasn't reached here yet (officially). Schools are closed for at least two weeks, which is cool. It means that we finally have peace and quiet for awhile. Oh! Did I fail to mention that we have a school right behind our house here in Cabo. They are a small school, but still chose to address their students with a tremendously high volumed speaker system. It is so annoying every day!! Well finally, we have some peace.
  • All public employees are wearing these face masks. They hand out face masks and hand sanitizers in the big stores here. The atmosphere is pretty cool though.
  • Tourism is expected to drop here in Mexico and I'm wondering why this needs to happen right after I arrive...
  • We had real pizza for the first time since we arrived. Well, home made pizza. But real homemade. We didn't microwave some bread with ketchup and cheese. We baked it. It was amazing.
  • The shiurim were cool. About 11 people showed up to our first Tanya class. They came with paper and notepads and all. It was cool. It was only the introduction, but an interesting one nonetheless.
  • Out of thoughts and ideas... In fact, this blog seems so drabby and boring lately. I wish I had more of an interest in you. Perhaps I'll pass the blogging rights of this blog down to Kovi when he gets old enough. That way, we will have a family legacy going for thousands of years. Hmmm.
  • My sister called me up yesterday and left an interesting question on my answering machine... She asked me if someone by the name of j*sus were to come over to me and donate a $5 Million Chabad house, or even a Sefer Torah... Would I be halachically allowed to display their name on the Mantle of the Torah or on the front of our Chabad House... Imagine "Welcome to the J*sus Goldfarb Torah and Education Center of Cabo" Or "Cabo Center of J*sus for Jews"... Hmmm again...
  • In final news... Check this out

The Yankees and Mets have caused trouble.

Very cute...

Cabo in the news... Finally

What does it take for us to make it to the news? Do we need global pandemic's to rip through my country for us to get known out there, or can we publicize our existence in peaceful ways??

Here is an article from Lubavich.com
Here is the same article on vosizneias.com
Here is another article from the Jerusalem post.

What's cool is that I received a phone call this morning at about 7:30am. The man apologized to me for not knowing the time. He was from the Jpost. He asked me a few questions and that was it. About four or five hours later, I was already online.
The same is with Lubavich.com. They only spoke with me about 7 hours ago and it's up already. In case you though that much time is spent on putting together articles, you were mistaken. It's sort of immediate.

In other news, what the newspapers say is true. There is nothing going on here. We sort of want to see some action. You know, like the whole city goes on alert and people are staying home etc... But this place bustles as if nothing happened at all.

Above are flyers that were made by my lovely wife K"ah. She is amazing with the designs B"H.
But most importantly, tomorrow is our first Shiur. CABO'lah. We'll be studying the Tanya. It should be cool.

And that's my post for the next week or so... At the rate I'm going, this blog only has several more weeks of survival. I notice how uninterested I am beginning to get in this blog. It scares me, but I try and convince myself that I'm finally growing up. I'm letting go of these petty little obsesions and trends that I've been involved with for the last couple of years.
I should really hang in there and hold on to this one at least... PLEASE!!! Don't Gooooo!

Chol Hamoed Pictures... Finally!

Atzmus Umahus melubash in a guf!!

Needed to crop this picture a tad. The full, unrated version can be seen on our family blog. Privatized and available for select members obviously. (Uterus club?)

Just a pose. Just a pose. Relax man!

The goyls went ATV'ing. I spent quality time with My bestest son and then met the clan at the Pacific beach (isn't it amazing... When telling you that I was at the beach, I need to actually specify which one I was at. It could be either the Cortez or the Pacific. Big waves or small ones).
The wife got stuck in this. She then wants to get a license Noch!
Here is Alberto, their guide Schlepping it out.

The goyls are scuba diving and I post on my blog.

Talk about priorities.
The Shvesters are now scuba diving in the sea of Cortes. They are enjoying the colorful fishy's swimming about in the wild. Perhaps they are petting the wild sea lions which come to play with the divers.
Yet I sit and update my blog. That's how much I love my blog reader.

Several things on my mind as of late.
Firstly, I don't know what in the world I would have done without my sisters here for Pesach. They saved our lives. Literally. From taking care of the Seder logistics to helping cook on a daily basis, to just being with us, letting us know that we're not the only Lubavicher's in the world. It really was a life saver.
---
Tomorrow in Guadalajara, Mexico, Rabbi Avraham Srugo, Chabad Shliach to Guadalajara will be Shechting cows for the first time. He is going to be sending us 150Kg of meat. We will sell meat and have mucho meat for ourselves once it arrives.
For those wondering, you will not find Rabbi Srugo on Chabad.org. But he is still a Chabad, Ibergegebener Chossid and a wonderful Shliach of the Rebbe in Mexico.
Mexico has lots of politics, Chabad wise. That's something I found out while working on getting here.

In my opinion, Obama promised 'change'. Obama is keeping his promise, by the fact that he is most definitely changing and shaking up Washington. But it's for the worse, and that's what people are getting upset about.
The American people are so stupid, dare I say (If I were posting these things for comments, then this controversial statement is sure to be a success)!
When I say stupid, I mean the majority of American's. They are all about instant gratification. When they hear the word 'change' and they know that their situation is pretty bad, they right away jump to the opportunity of a different scenery, without even questioning and investigating the remote possibility of the 'change' perhaps ruining their lives and the lives of millions of people around the world.
It must be why businesses thrive on headline news and quick, half-bat advertisements. It seems to me that the majority of American people will reply to those emails from Rajhid Ahmedinijad in Rwanda who promises $3,000,000 bank transfers, if they only send in their name, address, social security and credit info... Or when 'Capital one' sends them a 'instantly approved' credit line for them, their parents, their pets and Kazakhstani relatives, the American's jump to these colorful offers without reading the fine print.

I think that people may be starting to realize that not always in change good.
Obama promises.
Obama follows through.
The American people made the mistake.
Who's going to own up to their mistake?
I'm Canadian. I didn't vote Obama. Canada has a Prime Minister who is most probably the most supportive Politician of Israel and the Jewish people in the world. Dare I say, more supportive even then the Israeli Government.
... Of course I live in Mexico now, so that doesn't really help much (Marijuana anyone?).
---
While on the Obama issue... I see two paths to take.
One path is war, which perhaps is not the answer. But with no other guaranteed alternative, it's the only way.
It will kill many - perhaps thousands of people. But the result will be the good overpowering over the evil. It will bring peace. Peace the way peace is supposed to be. Unconditional peace. Perhaps it is conditional by the fact that it demands that all parties behave like decent human beings in a proper, well fashioned society. So there! Conditional peace. But with sensible conditions.
The Second 'way out' is the liberal, delusional, horrible approach (my biased descriptions. In case you are liberal, you can casually leave out the elaborations).
The second way demands 'talk'. Discuss and create dialogue with the opponent. Perhaps. just PERHAPS these radically brainwashed 'creations' will see the light the way you understand it, they will completely apologize for their sinful ways and they will not condemn the 'outer' circles of their mental cages to utter destruction.
Even if they don't do complete Teshuva and take back their opinions. Still, through dialogue and the open-mindedness of concessions, you can make them at least hold back for a little bit longer. However the eventual damage in way worse. More people die and the world is upside down.
All because some 'open-minded' freeks decided to talk to the lions and convince them to feed somewhere else.
That way you get to breathe air for another day.
What comes from that is far worse than the first option.
While you have the remote possibility of lives being saved, you also give the forces of evil what they thrive on. You give them credibility and power. You weaken yourself!
In my opinion, something big is about to happen. I just wonder if Obama is going to have the self respect, humility and dignity to get up in front of the world and apologize for his mistake, acknowledging the blood that is on his hands become of his 'diplomatic measures' being taken.

There he is smiling at South American dictators, who for years and years, American Presidents (more experienced then he) and politicians have cast away as pure evil.
Instead of addressing the REASONS for the US being concerned and critical of these rogue dictators and the evils that they impose upon their slave inhabitants, Obama proudly and excitedly shakes their hands, pats them on the back and gives them a 'get out of jail free' card.
They are evil. But the wonderful Obama will give them another chance!! How wonderful is he. How wonderful it is to read in the news that Chavez likes Obama!! (With full sarcasm).
If he was a tweed smart, he would put these American enemies in the shower, cleanse them from all their garbage and then accept them. (I know Shoch will release his verbal vengeance upon me. But what's happening here is not right at all!)

Obama is like the Jewish people. Always trying to please the nations. If the world is happy, then we're happy.
Live another day.
The American pride is down the drain. The world has the U.S. at it's knees, trying to keep everyone happy. Just like us Jews.

So in conclusion, we all are in the dumps. Let's bring Moshiach.

Pictures of the ATV'ing to be posted shortly.
I need to go pick up the scuba divers now.

A good week!

Casa Dorada... Home to our Seder for 100 Jews in Cabo.

Preparing for the Seder and the view from our Seder hall... Right on the water. Insanely amazing!!

The song for Zvi one more try!

Song for Zvi
Song for Zvi.m4a
Hosted by eSnips

A light slowly brightens, smiles are formed.
A hope so long lost has come.
Spiritual guidance, cold hearts are warmed.
Connecting the souls to be one.

Leaving your comforts, to help those in need
The challenge seems great on its own.
The angels they tremble, the verdict decreed
Such suffering who would have known.

Chorus:
So be strong
Oh dear brother, it won’t be long
Yes the flame will burn and you will return.
Continue to inspire and give.

Don’t be swayed.
Don’t let the darkness make you afraid
your power inside – A Shliach with pride,
It’s through you that the Rebbe he lives.

Waiting in darkness, the future looks grim.
Believe or just start from anew.
Give up while we can, all the chances are slim.
How can we quit on a single Jew?

The forces of evil make hope but a dream.
Their lies and their scandals they pledge for our end.
With Ahavas Yisroel, we stand up and scream
Ad Mosai, Moshiach please send!!

Finally visitors!!!

So excited that my Shvester is coming to join us for the Passover holiday tomorrow.

Going to sleep.
This week is going to be hard as heck!!

It's also the Rebbe's birthday. I haven't done anything yet for him. Who am I? What am I?

And the video.

Appologizing for the muffled sound, squeek of my chair during the first few seconds of the video and horribly hoarse voice. Perhaps I should also be on the 'witness protection' with the way I am not putting my face into the screen.
I'm just worried that any of these Lubavich websites will get ahold of this and post it.
Please don't publicize this video. Otherwise I WILL remove it right away.

Shkoyach! Enjoy. I just want Zvi to get back home safely and happily.

Post for Zvi.

Inspired.

A song has come to me and I have recorded it... On my digital camera (where is there a recording studio in mexico??)
Not good quality, so I will post the lyrics as well.
It's got lots of meaning.

I'm only putting the song up for about a day or so. Just want to share it, then unshare it... You know. Whatever.

It basically tells of a family that goes away from everything they are accustomed to, in order to help less fortunate Jews far away in Russia. It seemed so picture perfect. Community that has been under communist oppression and has no spirituality whatsoever, now will have their Rabbi and spiritual guide to help them get closer to holiness.
But that is not to be. Apparently, G-d has other plans in mind and sets the life of this innocent and devout Rabbi into hell.

Oh dear brother is sort of a pun. He's my brother for real. He's also a fellow Shliach.

While he waits in darkness... back here on American soil, he should seem so comfortable and happy to be finally living in normal society.
But he is not. He is angry and upset at what his life has been turned into. He would gladly give up all these American dreams, just to be able to go back to where he's established his 'home' and Chabad House. To be back helping other Yidden is his priority and this unknown silence, not sure whether the Russian government will give in to the pressures and the harsh decree against them will end, or if Ch"v Hashem has other future plans in store for them must be so mentally torturous for them to handle.
The community 'Haman's' and Misnagdim who have perpetrated this horrific act, which puts the entire Jewish community of Stavropol into spiritual exile, lied and extorted their pressures onto the government, in order for them to restore total power and dominion on the vulnerable but innocent community.
But we cannot allow this to happen. We must stand together and beg Hashem to tear up his verdict and give Zvi, Chayalleh, Miriam and Chaim Shimshon a safe trip back to Russia, where they will be able to continue where they left off, spreading Yiddishkeit and Ahavas Yisroel to every single Jew 'unconditionally' that lives in Stavropol and it's surrounding cities. Being Shluchim of the Rebbe and doing the Rebbe's work!!!

Soon. Very soon.
