My little update.
I sit here at the computer. Cristobal Huet made a perfect save against the Buffalo Sabres, and I'm listening to the game over the Internet. We are tied at 0-0 in the first.
I just wanted to mention some little thought of mine before I sign off and listen to the rest of the game quietly.
A few days ago, a serious tragic even unfolded in Rostov, Russia's Yeshiva.
Police came into the Yeshiva and arrested all the Bochurim for being illegal.
They weren't able to legally arrest those under 18 years of age (which was pretty much most of the Bochurim). But they did arrest one Ba'al Habos and some of the Shluchim to the Yeshiva.
The 13 arrestees were put in inhumane conditions, forced to spend Shabbos stuffed into a prison cell, which was only big enough for 4 people. They got food at about 3am. But by then, they had no appetite to eat, based on the fact that the only toilet in the room was a hole in the floor over to the side of the cell.
It was disgusting and sick for Russia to do such a thing.
Shmais put the story up online. There were many comments on the story. The comments all praised the Bochurim for their bravery and compared them to the Chassidim of years ago, who were forced into similar situations, based on anti-semitism and communism.
The point I wanted to make was as follows: While the Bochurim definitely were put through similar situations as years ago and they were so brave and courageous. While Russia treated them absolutely horribly, we cannot necessarily accuse Russia of practicing anti-semitism. Has it ever occurred to us that perhaps even the lowest Goy would be treated the same by the Russian government. They don't have any standards to prisoners. Everyone is equally treated like garbage.
The people to blame in my eyes (at least partly), would be the Hanholo of the Yeshiva who were negligent enough to ignore the legal issues which most of the students had.
The Bochurim were supposed to register as students in Moscow within their first three days of entry into the Country. They failed to do that. It was totally irresponsible of the Yeshiva to allow such lazy behavior.
I'm not saying that Russia is in the right. All I'm doing, is bringing to light what nobody else did. And that is, throwing out the notion that "Kacking on der velt" does not work always and it can sometimes be totally irresponsible and selfish.
There are also rumors which claim that leaders of Or Avner snitched on Agu"Ch from israel, which owns the school... hmmmmm is all I have to say to that.
In other news, The wife made such a yummy supper tonight (as always).
We had Tuna patties, mashed potatoes and an awesome salad with Snapple... Yum!!!

Very important Point that mst of lubavitch should be aware of.If someones Drivers liscence is suspended for any reason, even if a ticket was not paid, you will get arrested no matter what! you must be responsible to stay out of trouble
ur blog is my new favorite website!
WHAT!!!!!!     no pasta??
Nussy - Is that only if you're driving with a suspended license, or even if you stop driving, you'll get arrested??
Chayale - Thanks!
W - No pasta. We had that on Tuesday night and Sunday night. Not Monday night.
Very well said, Benny. While anti-semetism does exist, we cannot go through life seeing every time that we are not treated perfectly right as anti-semitism.
Randomly: I hate Lubavitch politics.
